Draconian Criminal Laws Are In Effect
Our lawmakers believe that tougher laws and stiffer penalties are a panacea to fighting crime. As a result a growing percentage of our adult population is now encumbered with a felony, which thwarts their employability in these challenging economic times. The most onerous examples are the driving under the influence (DUI) laws and child abuse laws. Studies have shown that alcohol addition is not solved by jail. Placing an alcoholic in jail fails to address the reasons for the disease, which is why the recidivism rate remains high. Anyone charged with a crime requires an attorney who will fight for their rights and present their side of the story to a Judge or Jury. Sadly, the Constitutional guarantee of equal justice is an illusion. True justice requires the selection of an attorney who has a proven record of attaining fair and equitable results for their clients.
DUI Cases -Most DUI cases settle before trial with some sort of plea bargain. Often the value of an attorney is to minimize the results (“damage control”) of a plea bargain. This means trying to get the DA to agree to in-home detention or community service rather than a jail sentence. There are a number of options to jail. This firm does not charge a fee for a trial unless the case actually goes to trial. In fact, a $750.00 retainer will cover all legal fees unless the case actually does go to trial (which is rare).
